The training objective of the bachelor’s degree:
The training aims to train technical managers who have the appropriate knowledge of natural sciences, engineering, management and organisation sciences to manage the material, technical, IT, financial and human processes of various types of production and service enterprises, can contribute effectively to projects related to these processes, and can manage the operation of organisations, including the establishment and implementation of development processes. They are prepared to continue their studies at Master’s level.

The disciplines and specialisations leading to the qualification, from which the qualification is built:

  • science [mathematics (minimum 12 credits), physics, biology, chemistry, mechanics and other sciences] 40-50 credits;
  • economic and human sciences (microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic statistics, accounting, business economics, quality management, ergonomics, human sciences) 14-30 credits;
  • technical managerial professional knowledge (technical drawing, mechanical engineering, informatics and applications, materials, manufacturing and technological knowledge, measurement and control fundamentals, management, finance, legal knowledge, health promotion, differentiated professional knowledge) 70-105 credits.
  • At least 50% of the subjects relevant to the qualification are technical.

Internship requirements:
The internship mustlast at least six weeks and must be organised in a work placement. The internship must have at least six weeks of practical experience in a traineeship of at least six months.
For students in dual training, each period of study must be followed by a placement in a company.

Optional specialisation: logistics and quality management

Job opportunities:
depending on their interests and specialisations, technical managers can find jobs in a wide range of different fields and positions. They can work in the automotive, engineering, electronics and construction industries, for example, or, based on their qualifications and knowledge, in companies in the transport, logistics or commercial sectors. In terms of specific jobs, the most obvious is, of course, as a technical manager, but they can also take on positions as project managers, product managers, IT managers, logistics managers or quality assurance engineers. Their tasks can be extremely varied and are often industry-specific, but they involve a variety of planning, organisation, coordination and evaluation activities.
