In the last week of August 2026, Maribor, Slovenia, hosted the “AGROPATH – Innovative Pedagogy in Precision Agriculture” intensive training course, followed by a two-day working meeting of the project partners. The five-day programme, organised by the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences of the University of Maribor, combined lectures, practical demonstrations, professional visits, and the exchange of experiences and good practices.

The training focused on the educational and practical application of the latest technologies in precision and smart agriculture. Participants gained insight into agricultural robotics, the application of various sensors, data processing methods, and the practical use of precision agricultural machinery and systems. As part of the programme, participants also took part in professional demonstrations and field visits in Maribor, Lenart, and Ptuj, where they gained first-hand experience of the practical application of modern agricultural technologies. Following the training, the two-day working meeting of the AGROPATH project partners took place. During the meeting, the participants reviewed the current project activities and coordinated the tasks for the upcoming period. One of the most important topics was the modernisation of the content of existing courses supporting education in precision agriculture, as well as the development of new courses. The common objective of the partners is to place greater emphasis on modern digital and precision agricultural technologies and their practice-oriented applications within the educational programmes. Another important outcome of the project meeting was the coordination of the topics and programmes of the next two intensive courses. These courses are planned to take place at the University of Thessaloniki and at the Alba Regia Faculty of Obuda University, respectively.

Both the intensive training course and the project meeting in Maribor represented important steps towards achieving the objectives of the project and further strengthening professional cooperation among the international partner institutions.

In addition to the intensive professional programme, participants also had the opportunity, mainly during the evening hours, to explore the historical and cultural heritage of Maribor. They visited the city’s famous more than 450-year-old grapevine, historical buildings and churches, explored its atmospheric streets, and enjoyed walks along the Drava riverfront and across the city’s characteristic bridges.
