Between 18–22 June 2024, a student group from the Sport Economics MA programme (Project Management course) participated in a professional visit to Albania. The aim of the programme was to implement, in practice, the project task developed during the semester.

Eszter Sidlovics, Marcell Nyerges, Máté Iváncza and Ádám Stelczer designed and delivered a multi-part workshop for the Albanian Handball Federation. The workshop was held in Elbasan and targeted coaches, clubs and schools involved in the national handball development programme.

During the visit, the group held a professional meeting with the president of Elbasan SK, and in Tirana they were received by Mr. Fidel Yili, President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSh).

The students were prepared for the visit and accompanied by their instructor, Zoltán Kynsburg.

Last week, our Faculty was represented by Associate Professor Dr. Péter Udvardy at the international conference “Agriculture for Life – Life for Agriculture” organized by the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to discuss topics related to sustainability.

In addition to the official conference program, a brief meeting was held with the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the host institution, focusing on the themes of sustainability and the modernization of agriculture.

Professor Dr. Levente Dimén from the University of Alba Iulia also attended the conference. Our Faculty has had a long-standing, fruitful international cooperation with him.

The 16th International LANDNET Conference took place in Budapest between May 28-30, 2025, organized by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) in celebration of its 80th anniversary.

Since 2002, the FAO has been organizing annual regional workshops for Europe and Central Asia on land tenure topics such as land consolidation, land banks, state land management, land abandonment, and land market development. The technical network became widely known as LANDNET in 2010. The main professional theme of the 2025 LANDNET workshop was: Land Consolidation from European and Global Perspectives. The three-day conference provided opportunities to explore best practices in land consolidation through various lectures and panel discussions. The Obuda University was represented at the conference by Institute Director Andrea Pődör and Deputy Institute Director János Katona.

16th International LANDNET workshop

2nd June 2025, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, two lecturers from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME) – Ilhom Abdurahmanov and Khoijakbar Khasanov – visited the Institute of Geoinformatics at the Alba Regia Faculty of Obuda University.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen research collaboration, particularly in the fields of remote sensing and drought mapping. Discussions included a review of previous joint projects, as well as planning for future co-authored publications and conference presentations.

This visit further deepened international academic cooperation and laid the foundation for successful future research initiatives.
