Széchenyi Career Orientation Roadshow Visits the University Campus
The Faculty welcomed students from Széchenyi Technical Secondary School as part of a career orientation roadshow designed to introduce young people to future educational and professional opportunities. During the visit, the secondary school students explored various areas of the campus and participated in a series of engaging programs that provided insight into the fields of engineering, information technology, and business.
The event aimed to support informed career choices by offering practical experiences and direct interaction with university staff. Through presentations, demonstrations, and interactive sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how technological and economic developments influence modern society and create new career pathways.
Several faculty members contributed to the program with specialized presentations and hands-on activities. Master Teacher András Dávid introduced students to the Measurement Technology Laboratory, where they became familiar with modern instruments and practical applications of engineering measurements. Deputy Director of the Institute Judit Takács Mód delivered a presentation on cybersecurity in everyday life, highlighting common digital threats and the importance of responsible online behavior.
Program Coordinator Dr. habil. Krisztina András presented the topic “From Data to Victory: AI, Sports, and Business,” demonstrating how data analysis and artificial intelligence are transforming decision-making processes in both competitive sports and the business sector. Institute Director Dr. habil. Rozália Lakner Pigler provided an introduction to artificial intelligence, offering an overview of current developments and future opportunities associated with this rapidly evolving technology. Meanwhile, Assistant Lecturer István Halász led an interactive paper bridge construction activity, encouraging participants to apply creativity, teamwork, and engineering thinking to solve practical challenges.
The roadshow successfully combined knowledge sharing with experiential learning, allowing students to gain first-hand impressions of university life and academic disciplines. The enthusiasm and active participation of the faculty members played a significant role in creating an inspiring atmosphere throughout the event.
Special appreciation is extended to the colleagues who contributed their expertise and energy to the program. Gratitude is also owed to the students for their attention, curiosity, and willingness to engage with the activities. In an era increasingly shaped by the attention economy, genuine interest and active participation have become particularly valuable qualities, making events such as this an important investment in the development of future generations.
