Cooperation Becomes Stronger Between Grundfos and AMK Óbuda University

A strategic partnership agreement was signed on Thursday by Grundfos Hungary Ltd. and the Alba Regia Technical Faculty of Óbuda University. László Török, managing director of Grundfos Hungary reported on their plans to establish the global water utility competence centre of the sub-company in Székesfehérvár. It means a lot more research, development and production technology.

Grundfos Hungary has always supported the dual training at AMK Óbuda University. In September, 2016 they became a partner company of the dual BSc training of mechanical engineers and since 2017, they have taken part in the dual training of electrical engineers. Within the framework of the normal training program, students can spend their internship summer practice at the company, too.

The agreement demonstrates the commitment and long-term cooperation of AMK Óbuda University and Grundfos Hungary for the development of Székesfehérvár and its region. Attila Mészáros, deputy mayor of Székesfehérvár emphasized the importance of the strategic roles of the Alba Regia Technical Faculty of Óbuda University and that of Grundfos Hungary in the future development of Székesfehérvár

The deputy mayor also declared that the development and strengthening of higher technical training in Székesfehérvár is highly favorable to the future of the town.

He emphasized that the agreement between the university and Grundfos is the best way of cooperation to solve the industrial problems of the region in the medium and in the long run.

Prof. Dr. Mihály Réger, rector of Óbuda University was talking about the new curriculum as well (from the autumn of 2017), reflecting a high standard of theoretical education and practical training as well. He stressed the so-called project-subject assignment, which means practical team-work tasks for the students.

There is a new possibility for the students to be able to take up an E-learning subject each term.

As part of the practical training in Mathematics in the first semester, the special MATLAB program system is used for numerical calculation and as a programming language.

László Török, managing director of Grundfos Hungary talked about the importance of the agreement as a way-mark in the cooperation of AMK Óbuda University and Grundfos as future strategic partners in research and development.

He additionally announced the location of the global water utility competence centre of Grundfos in Székesfehérvár. It will mean enhanced research, development and production technology.
